The treatment process included many steps:

1. Research and consult with scholars

2. Materials analysis and documentation

3. Develop treatment plan

4. Before-treatment photography

5. Secure powdery and flaking paint

6. Remove secondary textile and vacuum back

7. Reduce dirt and grime from non-design areas

8. Flatten folds and frayed edges

9. Prepare rigid support for display and storage

10. Stitch painting to rigid support

11. After-treatment photography
